Sefer She'erit Yaakov with the Bei'ur Luchot by Rabbi Avraham Zacuto - with Many Handwritten Additions. Salonika, [1568]. First Edition. Extremely Rare. - Sefer She'erit Yaakov dealing with the work of the Ibur and calendrical calculations, by Rabbi Yosef ben Shem Tov ben Yeshu'ah Chai.  The book contains elucidations and lunar and solar calendars by Rabbi Daniel ben Perachya Hacohen. Rhymed signs of the Parashiyot by Rabbi Shmuel Hacohen. Translated into Hebrew by Rabbi Yosef Vizino.  On verso of the title page: a poem praising the book by Rabbi Shmuel (ben Rabbi Perachya) Hacohen. Leaf 37, 2-40]: rhymed signs of the Parashiyot. Leaf [55, 2]: Lu'ach Hazahav by Rabbi Saadya Gaon. Leaf [61, 1]: ”calendars... for the New Moon...”. Leaf [89, 2-90]: Seder Re'ashim Vere'amim (”which reveal secrets of the upcoming events”).  With calendars, tables and an illustration of an open palm ”Melechet Hayad Latkufot” - with handwritten comments on it.  This copy contains most of the last section of the book, which is missing from most copies, containing ”Bei'ur Luchot by Rabbi Avraham Zacuto in Spanish” , Spanish in Hebrew letters. The source of the ”Luchot” is a work by Rabbi Avraham Zacuto (astronimical tables with an elucidation). His disciple, Rabbi Yosef Vizino, edited a Spanish abridgment of the work and Rabbi Daniel ben Rabbi Perachya wrote the Spanish text in Hebrew letters, adding ”Meshalim Chadashim”, that is, instructions and examples of using the tables. Yudlov, Ginzei Yisrael, Jerusalem 1985, no. 1332.  As stated, this section of Bei'ur Luchot by Rabbi Avraham Zacuto is missing from most copies of the book She'erit Yisrael, is extremely rare and has never been auctioned! Appearing on the flyleaf is the handwriting of Prof. Meir Bnayahu, who studied the book, the signatures and the script and deciphered them. According to what he wrote, on the title page of the book and on its verso are signatures of Avraham Barzilai, Nissim Mizrachi (on verso of the title page it was handwritten that he sold the book to Avraham Barzilai) and Chaim Yitzchak Abadi.  Added at the end of the book are 22 leaves with handwritten tables and 2 additional leaves with tables a leaf before the end of the fourth chapter. The tables were handwritten by Rabbi Yaakov Mizrachi. With handwritten glosses, comments and elucidations on the tables.  Rabbi Daniel ben Perachya : one of the sages of Salonika, a member of an important family, who succeeded his father as the Rosh Yeshiva of the Italian community and as a Dayan.  Salonika, [1568]. Good condition. Some moth perforations. Aging stains/ Some tears and wear along the edges. Reinforcing taping to the title page and last leaf and an additional leaf. Some detached leaves. New red binding.  Bei'ur Luchot by Rabbi Avraham Zacuto: approx. 14 cm. Good condition. Stains. A small tear and some taping slightly affecting the text of the last leaf.
