One of the rarest books printed in Kushta - Compilation of Works Edited and Published by Rabbi Yitzchak Akrish. Kushta, ca. [1577]. First Edition. - This is part of the first and rare edition of a compilation of works edited and published by Rabbi Yitzchak Akrish in Kushta. The works that appear here (with missing pages) are the following: Sefer Sha'ashu'im, Ma'asseh Beit David Bimei Malchut Paras and Kol Mevaser.  Sefer Sha'ashu'im:  a rhymed story by Yosef ibn Zabara [about the version of this edition, see Davidson, Sefer Sha'ashu'im LeRabbi Yosef ben Meir ben Zabara, Berlin 1925, p. 68. About the work and its author, see Shirman, Toldot Hashirah HaIvrit Bispharad Hanotzrit Uvidrom Tzarfat, Jerusalem 1987, pp. 110-129].  Ma'asseh Beit David Bimei Malchut Paras (which is Ma'asseh Bustenai):  about the rescue of Bustenai Rosh Hagolah, a descendant of King David (leaves 1-5, 1). Kol Mevaser:  containing the missive by Rabbi Chisdai ben Yitzchak ibn Shaprut to the King of Kuzar and the King's response. With a lengthy foreword by Akrish on the Ten Tribes (leaves 5, 2-12. The complete foreword was introduced by Yaari).  Kushta, ca. [1577]. The Press of Shlomo and Yosef Yavetz. First edition.  Originally: 4, 24, 30 leaves, 4 pp. 31-32; 16 leaves.  In this copy: 21-24, 30 leaves [leaf 10 is torn and mostly incomplete], 4 pp. 31-31; 11 leaves [leaves 4, 6-11 are torn and mostly incomplete] - all in all, 29 leaves are missing and 3 additional leaves are torn and mostly incomplete.  Yaari, Hadfus HaIvri Bekushta, pp. 119-122, no. 186.  One of the rarest books printed in Kushta - This first ediiton is extremely rare and was never auctioned!
