Chidushei Harav Rabbeinu Nissim, with a Table of All the Rambam's Dinim. Riva di Trento, [1558]. Rare. - Sefer Chidushei Harav Rabbeinu Nissim, with a table of all the Rambam's Dinim. With an abridgment of Chidushei HaRan on the Rif. Edited by Rabbi Yosef Ottolengo, an Italian sage who dealt with printing books.  In that same year, another edition was published in Riva, folio format.  When this book was published, the decree on religious book in Italy was still in force. The decree was issued after the burning of the Talmud in Rome on Rosh Hashana 1553, forbidding the Jews to own, study and print the Talmud. The Rif's books, however, were not included in the ban. Thus, Italian sages in those years studied mostly the Rif's books, trying to reconstruct from them the words of Talmudic sages (about the decree on religious books in Italy, see: Mavo Lechidushei Rabbi Moshe Kazis, Jerusalem Institute, 1988; A. Yaari, Sreifat Hatalmud BeItalia; M. Bnayahu, Hadfus HaIvri Becremona; and more).  On the title page of the book, an ownership notation in ancient script: ”I Yuda bar Moshe David of the Heil Prin families”. In addition, on the title page and the last leaf, a stamp of the Etz Chaim Beit Midrash of the Sephardic community.  Riva di Trento, [1558]. Yaakov Marcaria Press.  80 leaves. 15.5 cm. Very good condition. Qua;ity paper. New leather binding.  Fine, complete copy of an extremely rare book that was never auctioned!
