Minchat Shai. Mantova [1724-1744] - Complete and impressive set in original leather bindings - first edition of a Sefer Yesod.  Inquiry into the precise version of the Bible, its words, letters, Te'amim, vowelization and grammar rules by Rabbi Yedidya Shlomo of Norzi, one of the rabbis of Mantova (Mantua).  Sefer Minchat Shai was accepted by all Jewish communities as an authority on the precise version of the Bible and its Te'amim. The author of the Chatam Sofer writes in a response (Yoreh Deah Siman 270) that all his rabbis relied on Sefer Minchat Shai and that it is authorized and famed among Sephardic sages.  Two title pages, the first with illustrations of Biblical scenes (Moshe and the Tablets, the parting of the Red Sea, David playing the harp, Yehoshua's war, Shlomo's trial, Daniel in the lion den, the revival of the old bones, Achashverosh and Ester). The second with red and black lettering.  Complete set. Four sections in three volumes. Each sections has two title pages. The first is illustrated; made of nine miniature borders with lovely engravings depicting Biblical scenes. The second is partly with red lettering.
