Hanukkah Menorah by Hana Bahar Paneth. Israel 1960s-1970s - Unique brass Hanukkah Menorah made by the New Bezalel artist Hana Bahar Paneth. The back of the Menorah is a tall square. In its upper part, the artist cut the verse ”ארוממך ה' כי דליתני ולא שמחת אויבי לי” (I extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, and not let my enemies rejoice over me).  Along the back, the artist engraved path-like stripes.  On the other side of the Menorah, the artist signed her name in English and the word Yerushalayim in Hebrew.  Hana Bahar Paneth -a silversmith and Jewelry designer. Was born in 1936. Studied at the Bezalel Academy under Wolpert and Gumbel. She participated in international exhibitions and won prizes. Her works are exhibited in museums around the world.  The Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts or The New Bezalel is a school of art and design, established in Jerusalem in 1935 on the site of the Bezalel Beit Midrash for Art and Crafts. The school focused on the development of functional design, with social aspects, under the influence of European modernism. In addition, the school sought to promote industrialized design in Israel. In 1955, the institution received academic recognition and became the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.
