Prague, ca. 1860. - The character of Samuel Flekeles in the popular comedy ”Die Rekrutierung in Krahwinkel” was one of the greatest successes of the Austrian actor and opera-singer Carl Treumann. For the sake of authenticity, the actor used spicy Yiddish slang, and received roaring applause for his perfomances.
