Frans Wilhelm Udelmark (1849-1937) was a Swedish artist known for his genre paintings of oriental themes. He studied first at the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm and then in Dusseldorf and Munich. He painted people in everyday life, and picturesque architectural subjects, mainly from Europe and the East. He spent considerable time in Egypt, and while there painted many colorful paintings of Cairo.
