Silver Kiddush Cup by the Important Artist Bernard Dov Friedlander . Israel ca. 1932 - Friedlander was considered a leading contemporary silversmith and one of the only ones who made Art Deco Judaica . While only few of his works survived the Holocaust, there were many pictures of his works in the archive of the Jewish Museum of Berlin before the war. These pictures are now owned by the ZIH in Warsaw.   Friedlander's work match that of two other famed silversmiths: Ludwig Wolpert and David Gumbel, who also immigrated to Eretz Yisrael from Germany. Bernard Dov Friedlander 1881-1941 : a Jewelry and Judaica designer. Was born in a small town near the Polish-Russian border. Immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1932 and there passed away. Friedlander studied silversmithing in Lodz, Warsaw, Odessa and Berlin. In 1913, he moved to Germany and established a workshop in Düsseldorf, making Judaica for synagogues in Düsseldorf, Essen, London and several towns in the USA. In Eretz Yisrael, he was a pioneer of the delicate metal industry in the country, establishing a foundry on Sheinkin Stree in Tel Aviv. When Yehuda (Ludwig) Wolpert immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1933, Friedlander recruited him to work in his workshop. In 1936, the foundry moved to the south of Tel Aviv. Later, due to monetary debts, Friedlander sold the foundry whos ename was changed to Michsaf.
