Second Edition with Additions This is a dictionary translating the foreign (Greek and Latin) words mentioned in the works of Chazal, the Talmudim and Midrashim, forming a kind of abbreviated version of Sefer HeAruch that was authored in the 12th century, its title inspired by this work. ”Authored by one of the Kadmonim who, due to his modesty, did not note his name” – yet does note his name in the acrostic at the beginning of the work (omitted from some of the later editions) ”Eliyah” (Eliyahu). On the title page of the book, an ancient owner's signature: ”יוסף בר מנחם כ”ץ מק”ק פ”ד”. Krakow, [1592]. The Press of Yitzchak ben Aharon of Prostitz. A small tear to the first six leaves, restored close to the spine of the book, slightly affecting the text. Trimmed upper edges close to the text of some leaves, affecting the headings of some.
