On the title page: signature “HaKadosh Meir Yosef” — the signature of Rabbi Meir Yosef Rubin of Krestir, successor to his father-in-law, the holy tzaddik Rabbi Yeshaya of Krestir. Rabbi Meir Yosef Rubin HY”D (1899–1944), descended from the tzaddikim of Ropshitz, Zidichov, and Premishlan. Son of the holy rabbi and kabbalist Rabbi Baruch Rubin (Av Beit Din of Brizdowitz in Galicia and Admor in Kolomyia, son-in-law of Rabbi Meir of Glagau, descendant of the Maggid of Kozhnitz and Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk), in direct paternal lineage to the holy Gaon Rabbi Asher Yeshaya Rubin of Ropshitz. He was among the foremost disciples of the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Leib Winkler, Av Beit Din of Mad, author of Levushei Mordechai. In 1919 he married Rivka Tzirl, daughter of Rabbi Avraham (Avremele) Steiner of Krestir — only son and successor of the holy tzaddik Rabbi Yeshayale of Krestir. For six years after his marriage he sat at the table of his great father-in-law, Rabbi Yeshayale, and absorbed his ways in holiness and piety. After his passing, he was appointed his successor as Rebbe of Krestir and led the community for seventeen years. 64 leaves.
