Sefer Kelach Pischei Chochmah by the Ramchal. First Edition, Chasidic with the rare introduction. Koritz, 1785. - Sefer Kelach Pischei Chochmah, by the gaon, the divine kabbalist, Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto (Ramchal) zt”l, containing 138 principles for understanding the wisdom of Kabbalah. The sefer serves as an introduction to the Kabbalistic work Etz Chaim of the Arizal, in which the author presents his system for explaining the Kabbalah of the Ari, based on 138 fundamental principles, the “Pischei HaChochmah.” At the beginning is an extensive introduction by the author entitled Sefer Derech Etz Chaim, in which he discusses the great obligation to study Kabbalah. First edition of this foundational work, a milestone in Kabbalistic thought in general and in the teachings of the Ramchal in particular, upon which the Kabbalah of the Gra (Vilna Gaon) zt”l is also based. This volume is among the copies lacking the introduction of the printer. Glosses in the margins. Chasidic edition On the verso of the title page appear approbations by the great Admor Rabbi Yaakov Yosef ben Yehuda of Ostroh (Rav Yib”Y, one of the leading disciples of the Maggid of Mezritch) and by the gaon Rabbi Moshe Yom Tov ben Yitzchak, dayan of the community of Koritz zt”l. In the printer’s introduction it is recorded in the name of Rav Yib”Y: “…that he heard from the mouth of the holy teacher… our master Dov Ber, Maggid of Mezritch, that he said of this author that his generation was not worthy to understand his righteousness and piety… due to their great lack of understanding they spoke improperly about a towering tzaddik… for Moshe My servant is faithful in all My house…”. At the bottom of the first ten leaves, a restored wormhole with handwritten fill-ins of missing text. One leaf with trimmed margin. Minor worming throughout. Overall: medium–good condition.
