First edition, Warsaw, 1892. - Chovos HaTalmidim by the holy Rebbe of Piaseczne HY”D – guidance and instruction for educating and guiding the youth in the ways of Torah and Chassidus, and in drawing his heart closer to our Father in Heaven, by the Admor Rabbi Klonimus Kalman Shapira of Piaseczne HY”D. The Admor, a great educator who knew how to reach the depths of the souls of the younger generation, sets forth in this work his educational philosophy for fathers and sons. The book was received throughout all Jewish communities as a foundational work in Torah and Chassidic education, and has been printed in dozens of editions to this day. Warsaw, 1892. First edition, during the author’s lifetime. The holy Rebbe Rabbi Klonimus Kalish Shapira of Piaseczno (1889–1943): son of the holy Rebbe Rabbi Elimelech of Grodzisk and son-in-law of the holy Rebbe Rabbi Yerachmiel Moshe of Kozhnitz. From 1909 he served as Rebbe of Piaseczne, and in 1913 was appointed rabbi of the town. In 1923 he founded in Warsaw the yeshiva “Daas Moshe, ” where he became renowned as an outstanding educator and revered rosh yeshiva. During the Holocaust he remained with his community in the Warsaw Ghetto, working extensively to strengthen morale and assist those in need. His sermons delivered in the ghetto during 1940–1942 were later published in his renowned work Aish Kodesh, one of the most moving spiritual documents of the Holocaust period. He was murdered al kiddush Hashem by the Nazis in the Trawniki camp near Lublin in 1943, HY”D.
