An important and comprehensive prayer book, containing commentaries, customs, and kavonos according to the teachings of Kabbalah, compiled by the gaon and mekubal Rabbi Avrohom Toviana of Algiers, based upon the writings of the Ari and his disciples. The siddur was printed during the author's lifetime and is considered one of the central works in the field of the Ari’s kavonos and the order of prayer according to Kabbalah. It influenced many later authors and mekubalim. In addition to the prayer text, the siddur includes numerous liturgical orders and devotional rites, among them: • “Seder HaShulchon HaTohor” – customs of the meal and Bircas HaMazon. • “Tikkun Os HaBris” – Krias Shema SheAl HaMitah. • “Kol Bochim” – Tikkun Chatzos. • “Seder Tikkun HaYom”, including Pidyon Nefesh and Mishpat Maves. • “Seder Levayah.” • “Bircas Nisuin.” • “Seder Tikkun HaMageifah.” And other rare liturgical orders and prayers. The author, the gaon and mekubal Rabbi Avrohom ben Rabbi Sholom Toviana of Algiers, was regarded as the foremost mekubal in Algiers in his generation. He devoted himself extensively to the study of the esoteric tradition and composed a comprehensive commentary on the prayers according to the Kabbalah of the Ari. He also worked extensively on the prayer rite in accordance with the path of the Ari HaKodosh. In addition to this work, he authored the important books Yochin UBoaz, Eshel Avrohom, Beterem Boker, and other works that remained in manuscript. He passed away in 5553 [1793].
