Sefer “Har Adoni”, Zohar Chadash on Megillas Rus, printed by the son-in-law of the Degel Machane Efraim. Polonne, 5551 [1791]. - Sefer “Har Adoni”, being Zohar on Megillas Rus, attributed to the great Tanna Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. It contains wondrous and hidden chiddushim that were not revealed in earlier generations. It is stated that one who recites it on the night of Shavuos and the night of Hoshana Rabbah is assured of being a ben Olam HaBa. The manuscript was discovered by the great gaon, wonder of the generation, the rabbi, Moreinu HaRav Yechiel, Av Beis Din of the holy community of Horodna, who named the sefer after the city. In addition, it includes a “supplementary commentary on Megillas Rus” from the Arizal, known as Tzaddik Yesod Olam. Also included is the sefer Maayan Chochmah, described as “the beginning of divine wisdom according to the path of the Ashkenazi Ari, z”l.” The work was brought to print by the gaon and kadosh Rabbi Dovid Horowitz, son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Chaim Ephraim, author of Degel Machane Ephraim, and grandson of the Baal Shem Tov. Printed in Polonne at the press of Shmuel ben Yissachar Ber Segal, 5551 [1791], with an approbation from the gaon and kadosh Rabbi Yosef the Maggid of Polonne, disciple of the Maggid of Mezritch and father-in-law of Rabbi Pinchas of Koritz. Title of the sefer: In this edition, the discovery of the work is mistakenly attributed to the gaon Rabbi Yechiel Michel of Horodna, one of the circle of the “Heichal of the Baal Shem Tov.” It is written on the title page that Rabbi Yechiel Michel named the sefer after his place of rabbinic service: Horodna — Har Adoni. 38 leaves. Size: 19 cm. Minor worming throughout, with slight textual loss in a few places. Age staining. One tear without text loss. New binding. The binding incorrectly states Polonne 5561; the book was printed in 5551. Good condition.
