Rödelheim, 5584 [1824]. - Siddur “Rinah U’Tefillah”, Nusach Ashkenaz, carefully edited and arranged by the renowned grammarian Rabbi Wolf Heidenheim of Rödelheim. The siddur includes prayers for the entire year — weekdays, Shabbos, festivals, and the High Holy Days; as well as Torah readings for Mincha of Shabbos, Hatavas Chalom, confession of a dangerously ill patient, Tziduk HaDin, Tefillas HaDerech, Tefillas HaYam, Shir HaYichud, and more. Rödelheim, 5584 [1824]. First and rare edition. An exceptionally rare miniature format — only 8 cm. This is the first miniature siddur printed by Rabbi Wolf Heidenheim, whose precise and carefully edited prayer books were widely accepted throughout Ashkenaz and issued in numerous editions over the years. Rabbi Wolf Heidenheim (1757–1832), one of the leading grammarians and correctors of biblical and liturgical texts of the later generations, worked from ancient sources and accurate manuscripts of Tanach, and became renowned for his extraordinary mastery and precision in textual tradition. He is especially known for the Chumashim, Tehillim, and machzorim he printed and edited. He also authored commentaries on piyyutim, and the Chasam Sofer wrote of him: “Were it not for him, the piyyutim would have already been forgotten” (Kovetz Teshuvos, siman 48).
