Sefer Yalkut HaRo’im, Warsaw, 1885 — Copy of the gaon Rabbi Aryeh Leib Malin, with his signature. - Sefer Yalkut HaRo’im – “Likkutei Shoshanim, rare and precious selections from Midrashim of the Forefathers and the Tannaim, ” published by R. Naftali Hertz ben R. Sander z”l Herzag of Nieswiez. Warsaw, 1885. On the title page appears the signature of the gaon Rabbi Aryeh Leib Malin, with his stamp on the following page. The great gaon Rabbi Leib Malin (1906–1962), among the leading Torah scholars of pre-War Lithuania. A student of the great Roshei Yeshiva Rabbi Shimon Shkop, Rabbi Baruch Ber Leibowitz, and Rabbi Elchanan Wasserman, and among the foremost figures of Yeshivas Mir. He was known as a devoted disciple and transmitter of the teachings of the Roshei Yeshiva and of the Mashgiach Rabbi Yerucham Levovitz of Mir, and was also closely connected to the Brisk tradition, from which he absorbed much of its approach to learning. During the war he fled with Yeshivas Mir to Shanghai, and afterwards emigrated to the United States, where he founded Yeshivas Beis HaTalmud and educated many students. He was regarded as one of the great Torah leaders of his generation until his sudden passing in 1962. Collation: 45, 124–105, 2–5 leaves.
