The Siddur of the “Saba” — Sefer Likutei Tefilos, the copy of Rabbi Yisroel Dov Odesser, zt”l. - Sefer Likutei Tefilos by Mohor”r Nosson of Breslov, “founded upon the precious foundations of the holy teachings of the holy sefer Likutei Moharan.” Jerusalem, 1968. The Personal Siddur of Rabbi Yisroel Dov Odesser On the endpaper appears his signature: “Yisroel Dov Odesser, 24 Tammuz 1973.” Rabbi Yisroel Ber Odesser [1886–1994], among the foremost disseminators of Breslov teachings in the last generation, was renowned for his extraordinary self-sacrifice in spreading the teachings of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov. He was born in Tiveria to a family of Karlin chassidim. In his youth, he discovered in a genizah the sefer Hishtapchus HaNefesh without title page or binding, and inspired by the sefer began studying it regularly, until he became drawn to Breslov chassidus. In his younger years he studied at the Or Torah yeshivah in Tiveria, administered by the Slonim rebbes, where he extensively spread Breslov teachings among the students, arousing opposition from the yeshivah administration. In his writings he described at length the persecutions and hardships he endured following his attachment to Breslov. In later years he moved to Jerusalem, where he became close to the elder Breslov chassidim, and over time a circle of students and followers gathered around him and studied from his teachings.
