Sefer Mivchar HaPeninim, Venice, 1646. - Sefer Mivchar HaPeninim, and in its full title Ha Lach Mivchar HaPeninim – sayings of wisdom “in the eloquent language of the early sages and philosophical proverbs, ” with commentary. Attributed to Reb Shlomo Ibn Gabirol [some attribute the work to Reb Yedaya HaPenini HaBardeshi]. Venice, 1546. Printed by Daniel Bomberg, through Cornelio Adelkind. The place and date of printing appear in the printer’s colophon at the end of the volume. On the title page is written in scribal hand a summary of the levels of man’s obligations mentioned in Chovos HaLevavos. Additional inscriptions in non-Hebrew language appear on the title page. Originally printed together with three works — Mivchar HaPeninim, Bechinas Olam, and Even Bochan — in continuous sequence and continuous foliation (although each composed by a different author). Nevertheless, the three works are catalogued separately by bibliographers. High-quality light paper. New elegant binding. 40 leaves. Age stains. Good condition.
