Copy of the Imrei Emes of Gur, zy”a. - Rare copy of the Imrei Emes of Gur zt”l Sefer Mishpetei Shevuos– a work on the laws of oaths and monetary laws by Rabbeinu Hai Gaon, also including: “A New Approach to Bereishis Rabbah on the Blessing of Yaakov to his Sons” and Beraisa de-Melaches HaMishkan, Rashi on the Torah hints to, found preserved in the home of the distinguished scholar Rabbi Ezra of Fano. Prepared for print by the distinguished scholar Rabbi Levi Shamlai, and carefully edited with great precision by his devoted associate Nissim Shoshan z”l. Rabbeinu Hai Gaon (939–1038) was the last of the Geonim of Babylonia and head of the Pumbedita Yeshiva, son of Rav Sherira Gaon. In his generation he was regarded as the leader of the Jewish people, and by later generations simply referred to as “the Gaon.” From all corners of the Jewish diaspora, thousands of halachic questions were sent to him, which he answered in his renowned responsa. Copy of the Imrei Emes of Gur zt”l On the title page appears a stamp attesting that this book belonged to the Rebbe, the Imrei Emes zt”l. On the binding there is also a label indicating cataloging in the renowned and important library of the Imrei Emes. It is known that the Imrei Emes especially valued early printings in his collection. 55 leaves. Worn binding, partially detached; partial separation of leaves from the spine; worming mainly in margins with slight text loss; restorations and minor tears on the final two leaves.
