Asarah LeMeah. Discourses on the Torah by the Maggid of Vadislav, Father of The Holy Rabbi of Pshischa. Berlin, 1801. - Sefer “Asarah LaMeah” — ten discourses on ethics and moral conduct, by R. Tzvi Hirsch, Maggid of Vadislav, father of the holy Rebbe R. Simcha Bunim of Pshischa. In his introduction, the author explains the meaning of the title “Asarah LaMeah, ” writing that through the generous support of the Berlin community he was able to print ten out of the one hundred sermons he had composed. Berlin, 5561 [1801], first edition. The work subsequently appeared in numerous further editions throughout the 19th century. Signature on title page: “the humble Gershon son of R. Chaim z”l.” Additional stamp on the flyleaf. R. Tzvi Hirsch of Vadislav : son-in-law of R. Bezalel of Zholkva, author of B’Shem Bezalel, and father of the holy Rebbe R. Simcha Bunim of Pshischa. He served as Maggid in the town of Vaddislav. His son, the holy Rebbe R. Simcha Bunim of Pshischa (1765–1827), was one of the central and most influential figures in the Hasidic movement. In his youth he studied under his father, later in Mattersdorf and Nikolsburg. He subsequently drew close to the Hasidic movement and became a disciple of the Maggid of Kozhnitz, the Chozeh of Lublin, and the Yid HaKadosh of Pshischa. After the passing of the Yid HaKadosh, he became leader of the Pshischa Hasidim, from whom one of the most important dynasties in Hasidism emerged. Stefansky, Chasidut 472. Winograd, Berlin 475.
