Sefer Totza'os Chaim, Mezerov, (Mezhyriv) 1793. Rare edition. - Sefer Totza'os Chaim – conduct and mussar, by Reb Eliyahu di Vidas, author of Reishis Chochmah. Printed in Mezerov, (Mezhyriv)  “as printed in Diernhofen”,   [1793]. Rare edition. Reb Eliyahu di Vidas (5316–5339/5345), one of the greatest mekubalim in Tzfas in the 16th century, head of the rabbis of Chevron and author of the renowned Reishis Chochmah. He was born in Tzfas to a family of Spanish exiles, and in his youth was orphaned from his father and endured years of suffering. He was a distinguished disciple of the Ramak, and after his teacher’s passing the manuscripts of the Ramak were entrusted to him. He also studied under the Arizal and Reb Avraham Halevi Bruchim. Reb Eliyahu was among the circle of mekubalim of the Ramak and Reb Shlomo Alkabetz, who would go out for seclusion in the mountains of Tzfas in a practice they called “girushin”, as a rectification for the exile of the Shechinah.
