Machberes HaKodesh, Koritz, 5543 [1783]. Printed by the holy Rebbe R. Shlomo of Lutzk zt”l, one of the foremost disciples of the Maggid of Mezritch. - Sefer “Machberes HaKodesh” — containing kavanos (mystical intentions) for Shabbos, festivals, and special times, from the teachings of Rabbenu Chaim Vital — printed in Koritz in 5543 [1783] at the press of the holy Rebbe R. Shlomo ben R. Avraham, the Maggid of Lutzk. R. Shlomo served as rabbi in Lutzk and Koritz, and in his later years in Sokal. He was among the close disciples of the Maggid of Mezritch, a relative of his, and also served as his scribe, recording his teachings. In 5537 he established the renowned Hasidic printing press in Koritz, one of the earliest centers for the dissemination of Kabbalistic and Hasidic works. This press printed several foundational and highly significant early Hasidic books and occupies a central place in the history of Hasidic printing. R. Shlomo of Lutzk was one of the central figures of the first generation of Hasidism. He maintained close ties with the leading tzaddikim, was a mentor and friend of the holy Rebbe R. Moshe Leib of Sasov, and teacher of the holy Rebbe R. Shalom Rokeach, later founder of the Belz dynasty. He was also known as a principal transmitter of the teachings of his rebbe, the Maggid of Mezritch, and for collecting and preserving his teachings for future generations. In his approbation to the work, the Chozeh of Lublin greatly praises him, calling him “the Maggid of righteous instruction, sharp and well-versed in both revealed and hidden Torah, holy man of Israel, ” and testifies that his writings are filled with “wondrous insights, sweet as honey.” A copy printed by one of the most central and revered figures of early Hasidism, at the historic Koritz press, whose books are regarded as foundational pillars of early Hasidic literature. Koritz, 5543 [1783]. The present work is the second part of the well-known Ma’oros Nasan, compiled by R. Nasan Shapiro from the writings of the Maharach”u (R. Chaim Vital), of blessed memory. Ownership inscriptions and signatures in manuscript: “... Chaim Ze’ev Woyacz, Av Beis Din of the community of ... Lotshov [?] ...” Stamp: “... Noach Katz, Halcer, Kreshanov ...” [1], 152 leaves. On several leaves, light worming and paper repairs. Occasional age stains. Generally in very good condition.
