One of the foundational and important works of Halacha and Ashkenazic custom, summarizing the rulings and practices of the early authorities. It is considered one of the last halachic works written prior to the appearance of the Shulchan Aruch, and serves as a central source for understanding the Ashkenazic tradition of psak. Also printed together with it is Sefer Chazon (with separate title page) – a collection of halachic riddles and their solutions by the author of Agur.
