Sefer Evronos – The science of the Hebrew calendar and astronomy, with movable astronomical calculation volvelles and the ”Igul HaSho'os.” Offenbach, 1722]. - Sefer Evronos by Reb Eliezer Belin Ashkenazi, one of the important works on the calculation of the molados, tekufos, and leap years. Bound with the booklet Nosen Yeshuah by Reb Meir b”ר Nosson Yehoshua, a Kesam (scribe of Sifrei Torah, Tefillin, and Mezuzos). The title page bears an impressive engraved illustration depicting Moshe and Aharon, surmounted by an illustration of the solar system and the zodiac. Throughout the volume are numerous illustrations, diagrams, and tables intended to demonstrate the methods of astronomical calculation and the order of the molados and tekufos. In addition to its great rarity, the uniqueness of the present copy lies in the complete survival of three movable astronomical calculation volvelles, intended for calculating the molados, tekufos, and the calendar system. These volvelles have not appeared in this form in the other copies sold to date. Also bound between leaves 36–37 is a rare circular leaf containing the ”Igul HaSho'os, ” a unique graphical device for astronomical and calendrical calculations, printed specifically for practical use in calculations of time and the festivals. All of these components have survived complete in the present copy. Offenbach, 482 [1722].
