Segula Book! Magen Avraham of the Holy Maggid of Trisk. First Edition printed in his lifetime. Lublin, 1887. - Sefer Magen Avraham al HaTorah, Parts I–II, by the holy Rabbi Avraham of Trisk, the holy Maggid of Trisk, son of the holy Rabbi Mordechai of Tchernobyl and founder of Trisk Chassidus. Printed in Lublin, תרמ”ז [1887], during the lifetime of the author, first edition. A foundational work in the teachings of Tchernobyl Chassidus, containing derashos on the Torah recorded and edited from the author’s Torah discourses. The sefer was accepted as one of the important Chassidic works on emunah, avodas Hashem, humility, and kedushah, and was printed in numerous editions. Among Chassidim, the sefer became known as a “Sefer Segulah, ” based on the author’s own words in his introduction, where he blessed those who purchase and keep the sefer with yeshuos, an abundance of chassadim, and success in children, parnassah, and all desires of the heart. The holy Rabbi Avrohom of Trisk (תקס”ו–תרמ”ט), one of the leading Admorim of his generation, was the son of the holy Rabbi Mordechai of Tchernobyl. Following his father’s passing, he founded Trisk Chassidus, and thousands of Chassidim—including prominent Admorim from Poland and Volhynia—gathered to his court.
