Exalted and rare, copy of the holy Rabbi Menachem Mendel Rabin ztz”l – Noda B’Yehuda, Sudilkov 1833. - At the top of the title page appears a self-dedication “to Hashem, the earth and its fullness, ” by the holy Menachem Mendel of Glogov. His holy name is also engraved on the title page through emphasized quotation marks, in which the letters forming his name are embedded within the words of the title page itself; the letter Hei of “Yehuda” and the Kuf of the word “chelek” [first part] form the abbreviation “hak, ” and so on in this manner. On the forzet is written: “This sefer is Noda(!) B’Yehuda, belonging to the great luminary, the holy candle, radiance of sanctity, Menachem Mendel Rabin.” The holy Rabbi Menachem Mendel Rubin (1806–1873), the first Admor of the Glagov dynasty and rabbi of the city of Glagov. Grandson of Rabbi Naftali Tzvi of Ropshitz, in whose home he was raised and educated, and greatly beloved by his grandfather; son-in-law of Rabbi Meir of Apt, and the one who, after his passing, brought to print the famous sefer Ohr LaShamayim, to which he added an approbation and a lengthy introduction describing in exalted terms the sanctity with which the words of Torah issued from his holy father-in-law. At age 25 he was appointed Av Beis Din of Glagov. After the passing of his father he became Rebbe in Glagov. He became known as a towering figure and a worker of wonders; many and revered individuals traveled to “dust themselves with the dust of his feet, ” among them Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam. Responsa addressed to him were printed in Divrei Chaim, with whom he was a mechutan; in a letter sent to him he writes: “peace and great salvation to my friend, my mechutan, the great luminary, the famed chassid, holy candle, crown of our crown, etc.” His teachings were printed in the sefer Likutei MaharMM – an appendix to his father’s sefer Ohr Yeshua, and in Lashon Tzaddik.
