The Maritime Region of Israel - Lot of six (6) booklets, 1940's
The Israel Marine Corps (Chayal) was an association for maritime training and the deepening of maritime awareness that was founded during the settlement period in 1936.
The Marine corps, in cooperation with the Jewish Agency, established the naval school near the Technion in Haifa (at the Israel Defense Forces). With the management of the Zebulon Seafarers' Association and other maritime youth movements, it conducted maritime training activities for youth on the shores of Nahariya, Shavei Zion, Atlit, Kfar Vitkin, Herzliya, Degania A., Tiberias and Tel Aviv.
The Corps published naval training pamphlets and established a club called "Beit Yordei Yam" on Hamelechim Street in Haifa (now Derech Ha'atzmaut), for merchant navy sailors and Hebrew sailors who served in the British Navy.
After the establishment of the State of Israel, the Marine Corps became an umbrella institution of the maritime sports associations, until it was disbanded in 1997.
