Signed in pencil by the estate and numbered 514/950. Printed posthumously from a collage executed in 1978, by the estate of the artist. Romare Howard Bearden (American, 1911-1988) was known for modernist African-American figure and landscape painting and collage. Working in a modernist style, Romare Bearden, as a Black American, tried to express on canvas and collage the complexities and uniqueness of being a minority in American society.
