Vintage European Porcelain Plates, Villeroy & Boch - Item/Description: Nine vintage decorative porcelain plates from Germany, Luxembourg, and England, featuring notable brands such as Villeroy & Boch and Kaiser. Among the collection are souvenir plates from Septfontaines and Beaufort in Luxembourg. Villeroy & Boch was founded in 1836, when two French ceramics companies, ”Boch Frères” (Boch Brothers) and ”Villeroy & Cie” (Villeroy & Co) merged, allowing for expansion into Germany and strengthening their position in the European ceramics market. Kaiser Porcelain, founded in 1872 by Franz Anton Kaiser (German, 1826-1905) in Singen, Germany, quickly earned a reputation for its exquisite dinnerware and decorative porcelain products.
