Royal Doulton Porcelain Figurines - The Professor - Item/Description: Two mid-century Royal Doulton porcelain figures. ”The Professor” (HN 2281) designed by Mary Nicoll, was produced from 1965 to 1981. It depicts a distinguished, seated gentleman in academic robes engrossed in reading a book amidst a stack of volumes. The ”Schoolmarm” (HN 2223) figurine designed by Peggy Davies, was produced from 1958 to 1981, features an elderly schoolmistress dressed in a Victorian style, seated at her desk with a ruler and quill pen, with a globe and a dunce's cap visible nearby.
