Collection of whole-plate albumen prints (from wet collodion) mounted to card stock featuring views of Egypt including temples and ruins. Some locations and dates handwritten on pencil. Most with blind stamp: Published by F. Frith, Reigate and some with Anc.ne Mon Martinet (Ancienne Maison Martinet) / A. Hautecoeur, 172, Rue de Rivoli (Paris) publisher stamp to back. Includes: colossal statue of Pharaoh Ramses II at the Great Temple of Abu Simbel, The Pylon of the Great Temple at Philae, Second Cataract of the Nile, The entrance a temple at the Karnak complex and many more. Photos taken by photographer Francis Frith (British, 1822-1998) in the mid-1800s and later published by his company, F. Frith & Co.
