Emeralite Bankers Desk Lamp - Item/Description: Antique Emeralite banker's lamp, with its distinctive green cased glass shade and brass base. With original Emeralite brass tag reading: Pat. Aug. 15, 1916 / Emeralite Desk Lamp / No. 8734 / H.G. McFaddin & Co, New York, U.S.A. The name ”Emeralite” is a combination of the words ”emerald” and ”light”. The shades are made of white opal glass on the inside with a layer of green glass on the outside, which was believed to be soothing and reduce eye strain. Material: Brass, Metal, Glass Dimensions: Length: 8 3/4”; Width: 6 1/2”; Height: 18 1/2” Condition: Currently in working condition. Signs of age and wear include surface scratches, scuffing.
