19th Century Victorian English Majolica Pitchers - Item/Description: Three antique 19th century Victorian English ceramic pitchers made in the Majolica style, a technique known for its vibrant, glossy, lead-based glazes and highly molded, often naturalistic designs. These pieces feature a high-relief design, particularly evident on the middle pitcher with its floral and possibly basketweave pattern, which were common motifs in the late 19th century Victorian era. The glazes are colorful, with flowing green, brown, and yellow tones applied over the earthenware body to highlight the decorative molded surfaces featuring natural motifs of a tobacco leaf, bamboo, a rose, and a sunflower. Designed as functional items for serving liquids like cream, syrup, or beverages, they also serve as decorative collectibles of art pottery.
