Mintons Green Majolica Dessert Cake Stand - Item/Description: Antique Mintons Majolica pedestal cake stand, or tazza plate, which was manufactured by the English ceramics company, Minton, during the Victorian era, specifically between the 1860s and early 1900s. The style reflects the Victorian naturalism movement, featuring a relief-molded design that includes a decorative basket-weave pattern around the circumference of both the plate face and the pedestal foot, accented by a central symmetrical fan motif with a small flower taking center stage. It is finished in Minton's signature vibrant, glossy green lead glazes, which were famously introduced at the 1851 Great Exhibition in London. This pedestal plate was designed to serve cakes, fruits, nuts, or other sweets, often as part of a larger dessert service used during teatime or formal dinners.
