Limoges France Porcelain Game Bird Platter - Item/Description: Antique Limoges porcelain game bird platter, designed for serving roasted fowl. These platters were manufactured by various porcelain factories in the Limoges region of France during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a period often referred to as the Belle Epoque or Gilded Age. The style is traditional and highly decorative, featuring a hand-painted design depicting game birds, possibly pheasants, in a naturalistic landscape setting. The platter has a heavily scalloped edge adorned with elaborate gold gilding and two gold-trimmed open handles. Such dishes were often part of a larger ”game set, ” including multiple plates and a platter, popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Underside marked ”FRANCE HAND PAINTED LIMOGES .
