The Tower Japan 18860 (top) is a 20th-century Japanese-made replica of a British flintlock, while the Mendi 24002 12 (bottom) is a modern Spanish-made percussion cap reproduction. Both are constructed from hardwood stocks, steel barrels, and brass fittings. Historically, these designs represent the transition from the 18th-century flintlock era to the mid-19th century percussion system. Functional metal-and-wood historical replicas designed for collectors and historical reenactors to fire using black powder and lead balls.
