Mexican Archaic-Style Bronze Candlestick - Item/Description: Architectural Mexican Neo-Archaic style candlestick crafted from heavily cast bronze with a dark patina. Mid 20th century, circa 1940s-1960s, a period of high international demand for Mexican hand-wrought metalware. This columnar vessel is composed of multiple tiered, stacked registers with intricate hand-incised detailing. Decorated with s-scrolls and geometric wave patterns alluding to both Mesoamerican and ancient Asian designs. Underside is marked ”Mexico” and signed with a stylistic ”B”.
