Chinese Famille Rose Cobalt Blue Sgraffito Vase - Item/Description: Chinese Famille Rose cobalt blue sgraffito vase, of baluster form with a flared neck and everted rim. Republic Period, early 20th century. Vessel features a deep cobalt blue ground, meticulously incised with sgraffito scrollwork (etched-flower background). Textured surface provides a vibrant backdrop for hand-painted Famille Rose enamels, depicting a central pink chrysanthemum alongside various floral motifs and lush green foliage. Shoulder is accented by a prominent ruyi-head border in iron-red. Base encircled by a series of decorative lappets. Underside of the base bears a faint red ”CHINA” stamp, a definitive marking for export wares produced following the 1891 McKinley Tariff Act.
