Japanese Export Satsuma Moriage Lamp - Item/Description: Satsuma-style moriage vase converted into a table lamp. Featuring a tapered urn form with stylized scroll handles and a flared, scalloped base converted for lighting. Body is decorated with a ”puffy” moriage technique, utilizing heavy enamel relief to depict a traditional Japanese court scene with figures in patterned kimonos. Finished in a vibrant polychrome palette with intricate geometric gilding and beaded accents. Material: Earthenware Dimensions: Length: 10 1/2”; Width: 6”; Height: 19 1/2” Condition: Signs of age, use, and wear include markings, discoloration, scratching, and chipping to bottom. Untested.
