Chinese Shiwan Chopsticks Holder Wall Pocket - Item/Description: Antique Chinese Shiwan chopsticks holder wall pocket. Republic era, early 20th century. Front features a coin motif and scrolling foliage, symbols of wealth and good fortune, while the top calligraphy is an auspicious wish for many descendants, commonly gifted as a wedding dowry gift. Finished in a characteristic Canton green-glaze, the piece includes functional drainage holes at the base and a mounting point for kitchen walls. Shiwan ware is a type of Canton stoneware produced in Foshan, a major pottery center located near Guangzhou in Guangdong province in southern China.
