German Royal Bonn Delft Blue & White Pilgrim's Jug - Item/Description: Royal Bonn Delft blue and white pilgrim's jug. Late 19th to early 20th century, circa 1890-1920. Circular flattened flask-like shape body with high-arched handle. Fine hand-painted roundel depicting a Dutch sailing vessel at sea; reverse with floral spray and stylized scrollwork. Features traditional cobalt blue tin-glaze. Underside marked ”Royal Bonn Delft.” In the late 19th century, the classic blue and white look of Dutch Delftware became a massive global design trend. High-end German potteries like Royal Bonn created their own lines of blue and white ceramics. They stamped the word ”Delft” on the underside to indicate it was decorated in the Delft style.
