Victoria Schmidt & Co. Porcelain Bowl - Item/Description: Antique Victoria Austria porcelain serving bowl, produced by Victoria Schmidt & Co. The 'Victoria Austria' mark was used by Victoria Schmidt & Co, known for high quality transfer-ware and hand-painted accents. Marked 'Austria' (rather than Czechoslovakia), the bowl was produced before the 1918, dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. A woman's face is painted in the center of the piece against a green gradient background with floral patterns and gold gilding on its crimped edges. Exterior of the bowl is white while distinctive markings on the underside include a red crown logo with ”Victoria Austria” text and blue painted number 238. Material: Porcelain Dimensions: Diameter: 9 1/2”; Height: 2 1/2” Condition: Signs of age, use, and wear include faded paint, discoloration, chipping, and surface wear.
