Irish Royal Ulster Constabulary Uniform Jacket - Item/Description: Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) police uniform tunic. Dark green jacket features badges and buttons with the harp and crown insignias, a waist belt, four front pockets, and shoulder epaulettes. (Queen Elizabeth II era, Militaria) The Royal Ulster Constabulary was the police force in Northern Ireland from 1922 until its replacement by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) in 2001. Due to the political situation known as ”The Troubles, ” RUC officers were often heavily armed and their stations fortified. The uniform was the standard service attire for officers from the mid-1970s until the force was disbanded in 2001. Material: Wool Condition: Used, excellent; minor wear to jacket.
