1850s J.H. Yale CT Cobalt Blue IP Soda Bottle - Item/Description: Antique American mineral water / soda bottle manufactured for J.H. Yale of Middletown, Connecticut, circa 1851-1858. Hand-blown in a heavy two-piece iron mold, this cylindrical ”pony” style utility vessel features a deeply saturated royal cobalt blue glass composition. Raised arched block embossing marked ”J.H. YALE. / MIDDLETOWN / CONN”, representing a prominent mid-19th-century regional carbonated beverage distributor operating during the American Antebellum period. It features a robust, hand-applied tapered blob-top lip finish and a prominent, iron pontil scar on its base.
