T.&R. Morton 1851 Newark Iron Pontil Glass Bottles - Item/Description: Matching trio of mid-19th century American pony-style soda bottles, embossed with the production text ”T.&R. Morton / 1851 / Newark N. J.” across the front faces. Hand-blown in a two-leaf iron mold for early New Jersey beverage bottlers Thomas and Robert Morton, these vessels feature a prominent applied tapered blobtop collar and heavy kick-up bases showing classic iron oxide rod residue. Manufactured during the Antebellum peak of early American regional carbonated mineral water bottling, these pieces showcase early industrial glasshouse craftsmanship. Monogrammed with a cursive M.
