T.&R. Morton 1851 Newark Iron Pontil Glass Bottles - Item/Description: Matching trio of mid-19th century American pony-style soda bottles, embossed with the production text ”T.&R. Morton / 1851 / Newark N. J.” across the front faces. Hand-blown in a two-leaf iron mold for early New Jersey beverage bottlers Thomas and Robert Morton, these vessels feature a prominent applied tapered blobtop collar and heavy kick-up bases showing classic iron oxide rod residue. Manufactured during the Antebellum peak of early American regional carbonated mineral water bottling, these pieces showcase early industrial glasshouse craftsmanship. Monogrammed with a cursive M. (Vintage Vases, Vintage Soda Bottles) Material: Soda-Lime Glass Dimensions: Diameter: 2 1/2”; Height: 7 1/2” Condition: Signs of age, use, and wear include surface markings, residue, abrasion.
