Haitian Folk Art Paintings - Vixamar & Roland - Item/Description: Pair of original, Haitian School landscape folk art paintings depicting harvesting and coastal scenes. The nautical scene features traditional wooden fishing sailboats and local fishermen out on the water. Signed lower right M.L. Vixamar. The other is an agricultural harvest scene featuring native workers in bright clothing, set against a backdrop of iconic palm trees and rolling mountains. Signed lower right M.J. Roland. Both have an additional handwritten signature, Vincent Jones, along the lower inner gold border. (Haiti, Polychrome, Agrarian, Maritime) Material: Acrylic on Board Dimensions: Framed: Height: 16 3/8”; Width: 20 1/2” Condition: Signs of age and wear include surface scratches and scuffing to frame.
