Antique Victorian Photographs & Tintypes - Item/Description: Collection of antique Victorian photographica pieces, featuring cased images, loose tintypes (ferrotypes), daguerreotypes, and early photographic portraits. The collection includes three leather-bound, velvet-lined folding display cases housing formal portraits with decorative stamped brass mats, alongside a selection of loose metal plates capturing candid family groups, Victorian fashion, and children. Daguerreotypes (c. 1839-1860s): Early photographic images on silver-plated copper sheets with mirror-like surfaces, usually housed in hinged protective cases with velvet linings. Ambrotypes (c. 1854-1860s): Unique positive photographs on glass using a wet-plate collodion process. Tintypes / Ferrotypes (c. 1856-1900s): Images captured directly on thin, dark-enameled iron plates, popular for their durability and affordability.
