20th c. Irish & US Passports / Emigration Docs - Item/Description: A group of five vintage Irish and United States Passports and travel documents, issued to the same family. Historical ephemera lot consisting of three vintage Irish passports and two mid-century United States passports tracking transatlantic family history. The Irish passports feature the iconic gilt-stamped Clairseach (Irish harp) motif on their covers, representing the evolving official state typography across different manufacturing eras. The two American passports display the classic Great Seal of the United States emblem. Textured cloth-bound soft covers, stitched paper internal text blocks, and metallic gilt stamping. Archive showcases transatlantic migration, the mid-century dual-citizenship pathway, and national design lineages. Green was the standard global color signature for U.S. tourist passports up until the 1976 Bicentennial transition over to navy blue, while Ireland retained its signature emerald green covers until the mandatory shift to uniform European Union burgundy in January 1985.
