Scrapbook Life Album - Wedding, Parks - Item/Description: Victorian-era cloth-bound scrapbook containing an extensive collection of colorful chromolithograph trade cards issued primarily by the Singer Manufacturing Company. The open spread showcases cards from Singer's famous ”Costumes of All Nations” advertising series, which was heavily distributed at world's fairs and exhibitions to depict global cultures utilizing their sewing machines, including cards for Londonderry, Wurtemburg, Vaud, Albania, and Wales. Interspersed among the commercial trade cards are traditional embossed Victorian scrap cutouts, floral calling cards, and holiday greeting tokens reflecting the popular domestic hobby and craft of album curation during the late Gilded Age.
