Antique Cast Iron War Horse Mantel Sculptures - Item/Description: Late Victorian to early Edwardian era equestrian mantel sculptures consists of flat-backed cast brass figures depicting a fully tacked stallion and mare. Design features traditional dray or cavalry heavy horses complete with detailed molded harnesses, bridles, and Western-style saddles standing upon naturalistic textured ground plates. These heavy cast metal models were highly popular throughout Great Britain and America as hearth decoration, heavy desk ornaments, or doorstops.
